Martin Green - CEO
Industry Experience
After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Martin went to work for a consulting company working as a computer programmer. Soon afterward he was trained on the Oracle’s JD Edwards ERP software system and did his first implementation of JD Edwards for Westminster Homes in 1983. Since then he has written custom programs, managed projects, taught JDE classes, worked to sell software systems and has led brij (the oldest JD Edwards reseller partner in the United States) in over 156 software implementations. From the earliest days of developing RPG code on the JD Edwards World product to the latest web client EnterpriseOne releases, Martin has been dedicated to the successful implementation of JD Edwards Software Systems. brij has won a whole list of industry awards including JD Edwards Business Partner of the year and most recently was nominated by Triad Business Leader Magazine as one of 2009’s Top Business Leaders.
Community Service
From the earliest days of his career Martin has had an acute sense of the importance of giving back to the community particularly around children and education. He was one of the founding fathers of the IBM Triad Users Group, has served as the President for the local PTA, and served on a countywide School Climate Task Force. Martin currently serves on the boards of the Guilford Education Alliance and High Point Community Foundation and works as a substitute teacher at local public schools from time to time.
In 2002 Martin and his wife, Lou and two daughters started Dustin’s GreenHouse www.dustinsgreenhouse.org, a foundation dedicated to working with disadvantaged youth. Their foundation has built technology centers in low income neighborhoods, taken underprivileged students to exotic destinations around the world to do service work, worked with schools to bring in motivational speakers and sponsored all kinds of scholarships for students.
In 2006 the Green family received the “Spirit of the Foundation Award” from the High Point Community Foundation as one of their highest recognitions of community service and philanthropy. In 2007 the University of North Carolina at Greensboro awarded him their Distinguished Alumni Award.
Richard Garraputa - Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Industry Experience
As Vice President of Sales and Marketing for brij, Richard has the responsibility to direct the outbound marketing and lead generation, sales cycle execution and strategic alliance development for brij. Richard joined the company in 1996 after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Information Systems and Accounting. Richard has a long history of implementation experience with JD Edwards software as a programmer and installer of JD Edwards solutions. With the introduction of JD Edwards OneWorld to the mid-market, Richard’s role of technology consultant became ever more important for successful software implementations. By 2000 he was spending the majority of his time collaborating with JD Edwards Product Management, testing mid-market technology configurations, working closely with early adopter customers of CRM, XPI and e-commerce integrations, and breaking new ground with some of the first World-to-OneWorld migrations.
Community Service
Richard also stays very involved in the community he maintains a prominent position within the JD Edwards community. Richard supports this position through active participation in the JD Edwards user community, presenting at regional and international JD Edwards User Group meetings. He is an active member of the Triad Business Guild, a professional networking organization, and supports the Guilford Green Foundation, which promotes diversity and inclusiveness across Guilford County, NC. Richard and his partner are CHRIStal Visionaries, supporting Atlanta, GA based CHRIS Kids, an organization dedicated to the long-term welfare of victimized and homeless children.
Les Herod - Vice President of Operations
Industry Experience
Les Herod's background includes over 25 years of experience in information systems as a programmer-analyst and IT Manager. He began working with JD Edwards software in 1991 as the Vice President of Information Services for Southeastern Hospital Supply where he was a Senior Manager responsible for Information Technology and Accounting Services. After three years as a JD Edwards’ client Les began implementing the software as a technical consultant, applications consultant, and project manager with Deloitte & Touche. Les has personally been engaged in many implementations of Financial, Distribution and Manufacturing applications; has developed custom applications, and managed multiple projects, including Life Sciences companies requiring FDA validation. As Vice President of Client Services Les works with our clients to make sure they get the best in consulting services and that implementations are completed on-time on-budget.
Community Service
Les is an ordained minister and serves the community as an Associate Pastor. He has done missionary work in Thailand, worked in summer Youth Camps, served as a State Ministry Director, and conducted stewardship seminars for local churches. Les is the treasurer of an international organization sponsoring indigenous missionaries. He and Glenna, his wife of 34 years, speak at marriage conferences in the Southeastern US and they are the proud grandparents of two beautiful children.
Lou Green - Vice President of Finance
Industry Experience
Lou started brij with her husband Martin Green in 1986 and continues to serve as the company’s Vice President of Finance. Lou has been instrumental in guiding brij through its years of growth, a role that she continues to play as brij celebrates its twenty second year of providing JD Edwards software sales and implementation services. Lou graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology.
Community Service
In 2002 Lou co-founded Dustin's GreenHouse with her family in honor of her son Dustin, who died in an auto accident. The organization is dedicated to working with youth. The foundation cultivates hope for high school students by exposing them to travel, scholarships, and intern opportunities. Lou led a scholarship team through Guatemala in 2004, Ecuador in 2006 and Peru in 2008. She is also involved in the cultural arts and scholarship program with the Sedgefield Women’s Club. She is a volunteer with the Big Brother Big Sister program and with the Lighthouse project, which brings motivational speakers into the public schools.
